Some boffin on Radio 4 the other day was saying if you look into the southern sky tonight at 17:59 you'll see a very bright object, second only to the moon. It's the European Space Station. Worth a look.

It's the international space station and it's been visible in the night sky many nights of each month for years now.

That's it. I was too busy cursing at the traffic and trying to placate my arguing kids to fully take it all in.

Whole thread on it here. It's really interesting providing the conditions are right.

In the summer, I used to try and catch it most evenings.

And it's not that bright tonight. Looks like better and brighter passovers will be happening later in the week.

Stick to the main thread as well as it will no doubt be resurrected closer to the good passes (by me, if not by anybody else).

I've seen many times driving at night lol hehe

Once you've seen it a few times its quite distinguisahble due to its speed & size across the sky.
