Blu Ray Movies - Your Recommendations?

[Andy M]

I watched Baraka on our new home theatre system last night and was blown away. Already owning the DVD version, I'd hoped to see a step up in quality and was not let down - absolutely mesmerising!

A 'must own' for all Blu Ray owners: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Baraka-Remastered-Blu-Ray-...

For sheer 'wow' factor, which other Blu Ray movies would you recommend?

[Fatbloke]

Casino Royale

[Maxf]

Iron Man

[Cara Van Man]

Planet Earth box set.

Amazing.

[scruffy]

We watched Narnia, Prince Caspian Monday night...

... damn! Outed...

I already own Casino Royale (excellent!), and Transformers (poor story line, but good special effects).

I've been recommended to buy Wall-E and The Shawshank Redemption, so am on the lookout for those. I'm also considering signing up to LoveFilm with their 30 day trial (and have already heard about their cancellation tricks).

We're on LoveFilm. They don't list the BluRay films until months after release, and then they never send them.

Blockbuster rent out BluRays for only a pittance more than the normal DVDs, and have a decent choice.

We got IronMan from there.

The only one LoveFilm ever sent us was KungFuHustle, which was ace, but not really the ideal showcase.

[MrV]

Cars and Ratatouille

They both have an extra of calibrating your screen though (well thats what I use a my defence )

I have no problem at all getting blu-ray from Lovefilm. The trick is to ONLY list blu-ray films, then they send them to you. It seems that if you have any regular DVDs listed they will get sent out to you instead...

300 is pretty good in Blu-ray.
