London Motorsport Show, any good?

Was thinking of heading down this weekend, particularly as there's a few club championships exhibiting I'm wanting to look into. Bit short notice for any of my few petrol head friends down here, meaning I'll be going on my own, so I'll only go if it's deffinately worth it. Anyone here go last year?

It was dreadful last year. Went in, had walked round every stand in 10 minutes. Couldn't believe I'd spent £10 to see nothing.

Year before was fine, nowhere near as good as ASI but at least there were some good stands. About 66% of them didn't return in 2007...

On the other hand, Race Car Live used to be a good fun event - have a look round the cars, see them on track, so it'll probably be a better day out this time. Was expecting a free ticket as I'm a registered MSA timekeeper but nowt so far so I'll probably give it a miss.

Free ticket was in the most recent MSA magazine, a couple of weeks ago.

Sounds like I should just go to the autosport thing in January instead, after all that does get me into the PH show as well. The club championships I was on about arn't exhibiting there, but should still be worth the trip

I'm off to have to have a blat round in one of Saxon Motorsport's immaculately prepared 16v Golfs to see what the difference in perfomance is to my humble 8.
Apart from that nothing much on the bill.

I'll be there both days wondering around taking photios and helping out in the Girlracer garage! Hoping to get out on track at some point, although only as a passenger as I don't have a racing licence.

Agreed.

The o/h also thought it was rubbish, but still managed to order hmself a car

I went as intended, spending most of my time around the Girlracer garage (as that was who I was working for!) I had an excellent weekend, as I think did everyone else I spoke to. I'm not sure how successful it was in a business sense but it was a lot of fun!
