He's just another fat bloke "shock" radio talk show host. His newspaper column is just old bile. The fact he also uses his newspaper column to advertise his book and his book tour is hypocritical too. He has no objective view on anything.

I actually like him, at least he is prepared to say it as he sees it, unlike the rest of the bilge we get fed from the PC brigade.

He says what he knows will get a reaction...his beliefs may or may not differ.

Once someone's called someone else a Nazi there's not normally much debating left going on

He called the Councillor a Nazi. When the Council type said that sort of language would be "actionable in law", Gaunt repeated it and challenged him to sue. He then attempted to worm his way out of it by calling him a "Health Nazi"....

Ironic that a presenter who cuts people off in mid-point has been given the chop biggrin

Gaunt likes to kid himself and his listeners that he is the voice of the people. He isn't.

I listen to the early morning TalkSport but would try to avoid after 10am when Gaunt's show would start.

It was painful listening to him and his callers, no objectivity whatsoever. And I know every one in his (former) position has the opportunity to cut off any callers that were spouting rubbish but it seemed he did it to anyone that even slightly had a point that was against his.

Admire his gusto and passion though. Am sure he wont find it difficult finding work.

Oh, joy...smile

The self obsessed git was never up to much. A mere shadow of the late Mike Dickin.

Having said that, he was right about that councillor. Missed the interview, but following callers painted a picture of him that fits Gaunt's description perfectly.

Anyway, good riddance. All they need to do now is dump George Galloway and unsack James Whale.

Edit...insert that odious communist before George Galloway

Carry on...

Stopped listening to Talksport after Mike Dickin died. He was also outspoken and sometimes used to wind me up but he usually had his finger pretty close to the pulse, or what I considered to be the pulse.

I loved the way that he dispensed with all the fake bonhomie and smalltalk. In response to a callers "how are you" his standard reply was “My health is not in question,”. hehe

'Twas absolutely sublime when he led the bike riding BRAKE bod into a well executed trap.

Genius...RIP

Mike Dickin was simply a radio legend , at least he could belittle his opponent with dignity.

Small point here , the matter the councillor was representing was not placing foster children with potential parents who were smokers , quite a reasonable one I would have thought , certainly not worth an accusation of "Nazi" , I think Gaunt just didn,t like the mans tone so decided to go to town on him , in the end Gaunt seemed to be the victim of his own hype and just went overboard , at least we now have a presenter worthy of this position and can usually have a reasoned debate.
