I'm going through the process of registering my 1990 TVR S2 on french plates - it is a rare left hand drive one which was bought & registered new in the UK & has always been on uk plates. The registrationn process has been complicated by the lack of a homologation shield relevant to the specific model (I have the paperwork for a catalysed version & mine is non cat). At the initial conformity check at the police garage, the inspector said he would require a set of tests to be done including a noise test, which he doubted it would pass. The car has a stainless steel (but standard spec) exhaust & the noise level is pretty reasonable by TVR standards. Do any of you guys have any theories about noise reduction for the purposes of a test only - such as a screwed in baffle, stuffing the exhaust with wire wool or any of those sort of ruses I seem to remember from my old days as a Ducati enthusiast. Do they work & if so what works best ?

Many thanks
