Are these oldish fire surrounds worth anything?

Fancy a change.

Thats not very old. Reproduced by the thousand about 15 years ago! £100 at a guess
See if it has a name cast into the back, Aquisitions or maybe Stovax?

So still worth selling if the other option was the skip.

Judging from the carpet you never used the fire in anger?

Used to be very popular at one time, hence the importation of copies.
However, trend moved to modern simplistic designs rather than this Victorian style.
Worth trying to sell it though.

They were made for gas fires. The bars and 'grate' were removable.

Yes.. it's got a gas fire in the middle, when in place. And now without the squirrel nest 6 feet above.

OK, so how about a genuine "oldie"? I've got one, including the grate, which was taken out of my father's Edwardian terrace when he died; small one, came out of a bedroom. Is thatworth anything?

Depends on condition and design.
Again, not in vouge at the moment, and also not rare.
But if it is unusual or particulaly nice then there ia always somone who would want it for period property restoration.
