When will loan rates start to come down? Surely if lending rates for mortgages are to drop 1.5% loan rates should too?

Why?

Unemployment is rising, banks are more risk adverse (as they should be) etc etc - plenty of threads on here by far greater experts than me to tell you why.

because the tax payer has bailed them out and whilst barclays took arabian money in a bid to stem the flow of suicidal bankers making it to the jubilee line, the rest of them took tax money, rate has dropped 1.5% and I'm looking to borrow a fat wedge
