We have had a problem with leaking connections on some units we assemble at work, can anyone suggest anything better than ptfe tape for joining plastic 1/2" BSP parallel nipples into plastic 1/2" parallel female sockets? The joints don't have to be dismantled anytime soon. Thanks for any help.

Wouldn't you be better off using a rubber washer/dowty seal as both threads are parallel?

Same as the old days, plumbers mate and hemp, depending on the gauge of the plastic.

Used hemp with some sticky stuff before, made a right mess.

Anyone had any experience of Boss White?

Don't have two parallel surfaces to compress a dowty seal between.

Boss white with hemp as well. If they haven't got to be dismantled, solvent cement?

Might try that, but could end up using a lot of 50g tubes...
