How about a Sharp 32" for £329?

Bulit-in Freeview, and can be used as a PC monitor. It's so cheap I'm wondering what's wrong with it...

Is there really not much point in going 1080p? I plan to use it with my PC too so thats one of the main reasons why I wanted it.
I got a Dell S2409W a few weeks ago for about £180 delivered. It's a 24" panel, 1920x1080. Has VGA / DVI / HMDI inputs, including an audio out for anything that comes in over HDMI.If it's for using with a PC plus some hi-def gaming and movies then it's a very nice option - you'll need speakers or to run the sound through an AV amp though. If you need broadcast TV then HDMI freeview boxes are under £50 these days, and an HDMI switchbox would save swapping cables.
All the 26" TVs I've seen are 1366x768 which is a pretty horrible resolution for desktop PC use.
TBH I think getting a 32 might be a better option, far more choice, even if they are a little more expensive.
sjg I did consider this, but I have sky(SD) so theres no direct way of linking a TFT monitor to it without some sort of converter box inbetween. I have a surround sound setup already so sound isnt an issue.

Unless you're 3.4ft (Maximum) from it, on a 26", you wont notice the difference between 1080p and 720p
Panasonic 26LXD80
Done.
If you're going to go for a 32" set then it has to be the LG 32PG6000
On a 32" set 1080p becomes noticeable at 4.2ft, so at 5ft it still isnt a consideration, the LG is the set for you.

Bloody good them, and a good price too. In laws got one recently after I researched it for them. AV forums rate them very highly. You can't really get anything better at that size for the price. If you're going to go for a 32" set then it has to be the LG 32PG6000........

2408WFP is a bit pricier (~£350) but also has composite, s-video and component inputs. It's a 1920x1200 display, so black bars on 1080p if that would bother you.Depends on how important the PC side of it is to you. Either will be massively better than a regular LCD TV for that kind of use. I believe there are decent cheap converters that will output VGA from most normal analogue inputs, which is pretty much what a TV would have to do itself anyway.
There's some 26" monitors around for similar money that do the same res, but I haven't yet seen one that has that kind of connectivity.
