Convicted criminals standing for local goverment.

Ah, that'll explain why ex-IRA members who have served time in jail for murder are allowed in goverment.
How can ANYONE who has been convicted for murdering another human being be allowed to stand? I'll never understand that.
A great example for others.
The price of peace must have some limits , surely? I guess not.

Locked up for assualting his partner (also a councillor) when in office. Subsequent digging by the press revealled he had a string of convictions for violent offences. Previous to that he served 8 years of a 16 year sentence for being a mercinary in the Angolan civil war.
Lovely chap!

Hmmm. I know the names of the 13 mercenaries who were captured in Angola in 1976 and his name isn't one of them. Unless he changed it, of course.http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/s/227/...
