Why?

Why do people come into the office when they just full up with cold and cough and splutter all over the place.

The woman sat near me is just full of it and now moaning about how naff she feels.

Why cant people just use there own judgement first thing in a morning and say, no, im of no use today.

Gets me angry

Becuase unless you are on your death bed an employer would rather you come in do what work you can and if you get sent home it through choice of the employer.

If you where to ring up, as we all know the call would be put on loud speaker for all the office to hear you "coughing" and "sniffeling" and claiming you can't come in because you have a runny nose, thus not looking good for the person who is really ILL and make the twonks who are ILL look even twonkier

Why do people bother coming into the office to spend it on the internet all day.

Fair enough if your job is to surf the web. Personally you'd be quickly out the door or working if you were employed by me. people who come into work under the weather are showing they aren't there for an easy ride, unlike the OP.

ETA Must have been the wrong side of the bed this morning or something, feeling grumpy. punch

I've been full of a cold for about a month or so now and only missed one morning due to churning stomach.

They probably don't call in because if they can type and talk, they are of use? (At least that's probably how their employer see's it, and would count it against them if they stayed off)

Good job i own my own company then eh. People who go into work when ill usually end up worse, i did when i worked for someone else and ended up in hospital for a few days(Pneumonia). ZERO sick pay in return. You can count on your fingers how many days off ill i've had prior to that in my entire working career.

Yep most people say I am. Just don't like people taking the piss. I'll be the first to send someone home if they shouldn't be at work.

I tell the staff in my area to use there judgement, would rather have a member of staff being productive and doing somthing at home by dailing in than having them in spreading there germs to the rest of us.

I thought that when you were sniffing and sneezing, it wasn't contagious at that point anyway?
