Professional drivers for Britcar - or not?

This is the first time that I have replied on PistonHeads.
I have just read the comments made by Steve Bell and Henry Firman regarding the race at Brands Hatch. I did see Henry last weekend and offered to drive for him should he be stuck. I am therefore quite surprised that he has not taken me up on my offer considering we started the season together and won a few races. Like Steve Bell unexepected lack of finances (after spending too much on developing engines) prevented me from continuing. We both discussed putting a professional driver in the car - I do not know, is Jay a professional driver? I certainly am not a professional driver, I am a club racer with some fast times around Brands Hatch. If Henry puts in a professional driver he is going against his principles as he has stated. I said that he should put Mark Sumpter in the car if Jay is a professional driver but my offer still stands for me to drive with funding if need be. I have driven in Britcar for a few seasons and most of you know me as the "burly Midlander", Pete Morris.

The plot just thickens and thickens !

I can confirm Mark is not joining me in the car. As Pete says I thought about putting him in the car to put in a flyer for qualifying and for the race but it goes against my principles, I want to do this on our own merits.

You drove well at the weekend pete and I'd have you back in the car tomorrow if needed. But as already stated I'm not looking for another driver.
