Morning all,
My AA renewal quote came through this morning and I'm in 2 minds whether to stay with the AA or move to RAC or someone else.
I currently pay £92 for Roadside Assistance, Relay to anywhere in UK, and Stay Mobile (hire car for 3 days after breakdown) which is great especially as TVR's can rarely be fixed within 24hrs....
My renewal came through from the AA at £150 but went online and for new customers is £102. RAC is also £105 but didnt try any others.
AA have said they'd match the new customer price but their service standars have been slipping recently so i'm debating whether to just change.
Who does everyone else use?

RAC offers a discount to TVRCC members. I have their UK and European cover and the discount is more than the value of TVRCC membership. Other benefit of RAC is it covers the driver not the car. So if you have more than one car they're all covered. You're also covered if you're a passenger in someone else's car.

Same as AA then.....apart from the repair cover, which only cobers the one car which is registered.I use the RAC for the whole family (4) covering whatever car we happen to be in even as a passenger. Costs ~£140 for recovery and roadside assistance for all of us. Changed from the AA several years ago after a couple of experiences where we ended up waiting for hours for a local garage to come out (AA subcontract quite a bit of work). No such problems since with the RAC where they have always come themselves.
While they are fine for a brakdown after an accident in my car I found out that the AA do not recover you after an accident. Even with the top notch cover. They will however send out a recovery lorry and charge you a few hundred quid for the pleasure.
The RAC include accident recovery as well as the multi car coverage.
I'm with the RAC now.

I have used RAC for years, have the full monty all bells and whistles cover which I get free every year as I 'buy' it with my tesco clubcard points. As an RAC membery you get a significant discount on car insurance (not for the Tiv but my other cars), this year saving around £100 per car !
I had to call them out a few weeks back as a fuel hose on the chim decided to expire and chuck fuel all over the engine. Ok it did take them about 2.5 hours to come out, but they did ring me every 30 mins or so with an update. I broke down on an A road about 1/2 mile from a motorway junction and they had (apparently) had several calls to the motorway.
Anyway this wasnt really a problem I just got a coffee and waited. Chap turns up and manages to bodge a repair good enough to get me to TopCats. He followed me there (ok well he travelled the same road I had to wait a while for him to arrive
) then drove me back hom in the van.I cant say anything good about the AA , I swapped to the RAC after a bad experience.
But as with any service I can guarantee some people will have had a bad experience with the RAC too, none of them is perfect.
I was with the RAC for a while and had developed a small no claims discount with them - I then asked about the TVRCC discount to be told that I selected either the flat 15% (I think ) discount or the no claims which goes up by 10% per year so unless its changed you takes your money etc ...
As an aside - when I wanted European cover for Le Mans for the S some years ago they wanted about £50 for a week as it was over x years old (think about 7/8?) but when I said I was in the TVRCC it came down, as I was a member of an approved motoring club, to about £29 or so so a good reduction.

Im paying £117 for the same cover as you + the repair warranty
My one of these is about ot run out - thought they had stopped offering the warranty thing? Not sure if its a blessing or a curse that I have not used the warranty!
I,m with the RAC, had to use them twice this year, both times they were excellent, even wrote out a report on a dud battery to help with warranty replacement. Also both engineers seemed to know their way around a Griff. Even had some nice comments!!
At the end of the day, you want a company that can get you going again, well worth a few quid extra .

We're with Britannia now having moved from the AA; can't fault them having used their recovery services a couple of times, and I don't recall anyone else ever faulting them either. They took good care of the Griff after we got a hole in the rad last summer.
And on the Deluxe policy they automatically cover a named vehicle throughout Europe too. The AA wanted almost £100 extra to cover the Griff for a 2 week trip to France.
They second out all the recoveries to local services, which has some advantages - generally not much waiting around (often the AA send a local garage anyway), and the recovery driver generally knows the area to find you.

I bank with Lloyds TSB and get free AA cover that includes home start, Joint account so the wife is covered aswell. And it us not the car so covers all our cars & bikes.
Used it a couple of times and have had nothing to complain about.
It a Platinum account that they charge £15 per month for, but woth it just for the break down cover.

The AA also cover you rather than the car. They also recover after an accident.
They recovered mine after it lost a wheel, and was obviously damaged and immobilised.
Had pretty good service from them over the years.
