Building costs - garage
Discussion
A pal is thinking of having a new garage built and is trying to get some idea of how much it might cost. Are there any builders on, or someone who's had one built recently, who could give us some guidance please? Size will be approx 5.5m square, brick and tile construction. The bloke doing the drawings thinks that the foundations will need to be 2.5m deep, which seems to me a lot for a garage, or they may need to be piled, does that sound realistic?

How far do his boots go into the formation?
On a serious note, all the load will be getting transfered around the edge of the garage so I would expect a beam of some sort running around the perimeter, the ground would have to be pretty s
t for a simple ground bearing solution to not be suitable.
As has been dicussed on here before, w/o all the facts we could take until the cows come home.
