You heard it everywhere first. Mosley, according to his henchman Novak, is set to remain for another 'term' (there is, of course, no such thing as a term) as FiA president.

This is according to Novak, the fiercly independant supporter of Mosley who, it is suggested, started the rumour that McLaren were behind the expose of Mosley's women beating. Kingmaker that he is, he states that Todt is unsuited to the post (another example of the of the bleedin' obvious) and nor is Briatore. In other words, Mosley is the only candidate. And they reckoned the Valencia GP was predictable.

This is, I would assume, another reason for the manufacturers to leave F1 and the FiA.

As for the Spankster, I don't think anyone had any doubt that he has every intention of staying.

EDIT: Reasons for me not commenting on the story -

1. Words cannot sufficiently express my fury and disgust.
2. I'm about as surprised as a person who's not easily surprised being given a present by themselves whilst under heavy sedation that that was both expected and not wrapped.

There was an interview with Adam Cooper on the FIA's web site at the end of last year in which he refused to rule out running again.

That would have been before Mosley was caught with his pants down and a thermometer up his arse.

When he was scrabbling around for votes of "confidence" in June, he explicitly committed himself to retiring at the end of his present term, in October '09.
As he has always been a beacon of integrity shining through the murk of an amoral world, one has no doubt that Max would never break his word.
