They are terrible.

I don't know of any that have the mic and call button, other than the Apple ones. I'd like some too, but only if they are the in-ear type and as good as the Sennheisers I'm using at the moment.

Loads of options for in-ear headphones with a microphone on the Apple website:

http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_iphone/...

Not sure which ones are good though i'm afraid.

I find that the original ones fall out of my ears.

V-moda (with the mike) work well and sound good.

Good luck with that one, I too have been searching and nothing comes close to sennheisers for sound quality, but I'd love a mic and call button frown

Thanks to the above link I saw these:

http://store.apple.com/uk/product/TR530ZM/A?fnode=...

Going to give them a try but not from Apple, they are almost half the price on other websites!

Creative EP or Sennheiser CX300.

The Creatives will plug straight into a 1st Gen headphone socket without an adapter.

I think the CX300 are what I have - they don't have a mic/ call button.

The reviews I've read of these claim they are bass heavy. My music is an eclectic mix from Heavy metal to classical so ideally I want as clean a sound as possible.

It's strange how little value people place on headphones compared to the rest of their gear. Nobody on here would be shocked at someone spending $1200 on a pair of speakers. And that would be on some fairly low end consumer level speakers. Yet $1200 for what are arguably the best IEMs on the market sems outrageous.

I bought some UE10s a couple of years ago and paid about £850 all in and they've been well worth the money. They probably get used (along with the rest of my headphones) way more than my speakers. And have the added advantage of being able to be used to full potential day or night and without any added expense or compromises due to room treatments etc. A thoughouly sensible purchase, I'd say.
