Battery question

Hi guys

Just invested in a trickle charger to keep the Cerb's battery alive whilst its in the garage
Question is - when I opened up the bonnet, you can only get to the positive terminal. Negative seems to be under the wing somewhere!!!

So i've hooked up the positive cable to the terminal and clipped the chargers' negative cable to an earth on the car (bonnet catch)

Seems to be charging but will I do any damage? Is the right thing to have done?

As long as Neg is connected somehow to the chassis, be it directly or via a fitted component, you will be fine.
