S2 distributor probs ?

Having found a iffy connection on my distributor plug I was kindly sent a used one of a ford 2.9, allbeit the wires had diff colours, I one by one reconected harness wires to plug BUT after which car would not start (there is no spark) having repaired original plug set about putting this back, STILL same prob. I am basically stumped now. I am sure I connected the right wires.
Would any of you nice people! care to have a look at their dis plugs & make a note of wire colours & in which location they are (top to bottom) there are 6 wires.
I can then try trace things & hopefully sort prob.

Look down the left handside.

look at " general electrics and supplemental blah blah blah"

This gives wiring diag for dissy etc

What I would like to know is what colour is the wire 2nd from bottom on owners S2`s on the plug which goes into distributor. ?????

On my S2 it's green.

cheers for that ! mine is also green BUT on wiring diagram green is at bottom, bloody confused now I believe GREEN is plusing earth which goes to coil & my green does to to coil. . I have all my wire colours now can any body reference mine to theirs ?? really need to know if different. here goes from TOP of plug down wards

Black (v. difficult to see)

very much appreciate you taking the time to look under your bonnet for me. I would say this confirms that i have my wires in correct positions (as i thought) just don`t know why the bloody thing won`t fire up ? just had dizz module tested tonight & this was ok too.

Anyone got a haynes manual to see if there is an early version of the wiring duagram and then a later version, maybe in the supplement chapter at the back?
