Buy your own oil. that will reduce the price dramatically.

ring round - prices vary greatly within areas and across the country.

ETA you are in Lancashire. So am I but used Batemans in Barrow in Furness. They were the cheapest and are a smaller Main Dealer so have a friendly, helpful attitude. It's also possible to walk round to the work bays to speak to the technicians if you want. They also provide a signed declaration the service has been done in accordance with BMW requirements as well as stamping the book. Absolutely no complaints - excellent outfit.

There's also an excellent driving road about 2mls away too. As I'm sure you know!

What oil does the M5 take, is it the same as what other M-power cars use, 10w60 Castrol Sport?

Castrol TWS 10w-60 if you can still get it or Castrol EDGE 10W-60...

Not bad, worth playing it against another dealer though...

My dealer initially wanted £474 for a plug change and vehicle check yikes

I mentioned another dealer had quoted £390, they then agreed to do it for £380.02...

So near £100 saving there....even the services can be haggled nowadays!!

Oil change on my Z4M (same as E46 M3) was £160 all in from Bateman's. I know your's is an M5 but still your £260 looks on the high side - where's that from? I would be ringing around...

The price may be the same, but I know who I'd trust my P&J with wink
