Mrs Targa got a late cab home from London this morning. She had a couple of cold drinks whilst she was out and forgot to get a receipt for the not inconsiderable fare. So can't claim it back and we are down by £75!! which we can't afford.
Any cabbies out there have any idea how we could find the chap that brought her home or get a receipt? (no problem or blame attached to the driver, just one of those stupid things that happen at the worst possible times.)

I thought this was the first thing you were taught when claiming expenses?

"Blanky please drive, ta mate, ere's a fiver for your trouble"

Add the fiver to your taxi fare cost on the recipt, and all's well with the world.

She is new to this as you might guess. Don't black cabs have printed receipts or something similar?

However, if they're numbered, don't submit sequentially numbered receipts over a period of months, as one of our ex-employees did. rofl

I used to have a nice little arrangement with a few of the office-types who drank in the pub I worked in. First it was just writing "meals" on the receipt, but it gradually degenerated into selling entire books of receipts for beer.
