Money laundering ?

Shifting cash out of paypal without it passing through bank account (clearing overdraft etc.)?

Not that stupid if you would lose the money if you withdrew it by any other means.

we have a winner

won by a brand new account too

gotta be a money cleaning exercise

edit brand new account is relevant as you have to confirm your address and other details after so much money has passed through your account.

Zero feedback buyers doing something dumbassed like this are usually fraudsters of some sort.

Like those who pay £800 for a £90 phone and then want it shipped to nigeria.

Nothing so fancy.

It'll be a simple scam attempt.

Money cleaning, avoidance method is one reason.

Also don't forget that there are charges on Paypal etc for withdrawl. So if you have sold a load of stuff on Ebay its often easier to pay slightly over the odds for something like this in return - that way you avoid the charges for a small amount of money.

Idiots? Not really.

when you check out what the buyer has already bid on since they joined ebay on 31/10/08, amongst the 21 items theres a range of mobile phones and digital cameras, and he bid £51 for £50 worth of M&S vouchers.

Definitely a scammer.
