Used to go and watch this car sliding all round Donny before we had the kids. It takes me back to my youth.

Hope soneone finishes it and races it next year at Donny again that would be awesome!

Yeah its a real pity Jon's not going to finish it after all the work he's put into it, and not to mention money.

That car has been a total ground up restoration with a lot of new bits on it. IIRC tis up or about 15k with most of the bits to complete with an RV8 motor.

To put things into perspective to anyone looking at getting into the series I spent more than that prepping the Chim in 2005/6 and look where that got me. Oh to have that money again!!!

Quite, well only once in the kitty litter (as everyone watching R&R UK sees on a regular basis), the rest of the time I was usually parked up on the grass with a broken this or that.

Well I can vouch for the chassis and lots of the other new bits on Jon's Tuscan - great value project for someone looking for a piece of TVR history to race.

As Jon says in his ad, the car is assembled from various sources - the main one being the ex Pete Osborne/Nathan Freke car, with the ex Racesport 'De Walt' bodyshell.

I'm sure the result of all Jon's hard work is excellent, but I don't see what makes it a part of TVR history?

I'm sorry Andy - I was lead to believe that Natahn Freke, Pete Osborne and the Dennis Leach's De Walt team were all a part of TVR history.

Your old car is a piece of TVR history - Mike Jordan won a championship in it. Owen's new car is a piece of TVR history - Lee Caroline won 2 championships in it.

This car (as in the sum of its parts) has no historical significance - how can it - its never raced?

This in no way detracts from what will no doubt be a very fine car when completed (and Jon himself made no claims about historical significance).

I was trying to work out what this car was. The only wide arch body kit was the "development" car for Peter Wheeler so was not actually legal in the Tuscan Challenge for any one else. It therefore surrprises me that this is a full De Walt shell.

If as suggested this car is the ex Pete Osborne Nathan Freke car then it is the car I drove at Spa in 2002 run then by Porter Motorsport for Pete Osborne. There was a fire involved somewhere with this vehicle. Nathan Freke drove the car for a short period during one season and he and his father really did not get on with Tuscans so I would not put Nathan down as a part of Tuscan Challenge History any more than I would myself after competing in 85 races since 1998.

With regard to the Lee Caroline car that did win two championships and was Colin Blowers personal car. Colin Blower was a part of Tuscan Challenge history and one of the most high profile racer/preparers in the championship. My own car was a Blower car although not quite as well engineered!!!

it is one of the nicest colour schemes IMHO. It does need to be out next year.
