Sorry, very mundane question I know, but has anyone had any experience of this company? Am renewing on the Cerbera and, after three years with Sainsbury's (!) confused.com has found me these people at £200 less.. Very tempting - a no-brainer almost. But as I am going through a total loss claim on another car following a lunatic accident (me stationary, flying motorcycle coming through the windscreen) I am sensitive at the moment to the level of 'service' one actually gets from insurers. Although maybe level of service doesn't correlate with price as often as it should, of course...

im probably the best person to answer this
im 25, got 3 points , drink driving and 2 claims on my policy, ive got an astra vxr which im paying 1300 for with 6years no claims and thats with vauxhall
i also own a T350, which i have declared all my convictions and claims, and have managed to get cover with privilege for 1600, when almost all companies were quoting 3.5k, they are by far one of the cheapest especially with my motoring history

If you have the TVR as a second car and don't use it for commuting, try Hagerty. 01327 856 002 I spoke with Charlie Patterson, very helpfull

In the interests on no naming and shaming, all i will say is that I was with Privilege once.
Does that mean I can't say they are Bcensoredards?

I have my everyday car with privilage.
After quite a few quotes, they were the cheapest. Not made a claim with them so cannot comment (but how they handle claims has to be the most important thing you want from an insurence company).
Not sure on customer service yet, but as I am about to change the car that is insured with them, I might be about to find out!

I used to insure various 'performance' cars with them when I was younger, very good rates but never had to claim so couldn't comment on that side of things. I beleive they are the same company as Direct Line.

A-Plan, Mannings or Hagertys is where I'd be heading. Currently with A-Plan but the other two were also very competitive and have excellent reputations with fellow TVR owners.

Uh? Your answer doesnt relate to the question?! The question was about the service not the price.

Thanks, chaps. Obviously some good and bad experience with Privilege. There's no doubt they're the cheapest, I think. No reason not to give the detail, I guess: Privilege offer £400 vs. £600 with Saino's - and when I asked a broker I've used for years, best he got was £900 with Norwich Union. As I'm fighting with another insurer, though, about my Merc write-off (no fault my side; criminal behaviour on other side) I suppose I'm being oversensitive. Fact is, they are all so-and-so's and will fight like Hell not to pay when the time comes... I think I'll spend £200 on beer, feel I got a good deal and devil take the hindmost!

PS I use the Cerbera most days, including a regular longish commute (160 miles round trip) so 'specialist' insurance not suitable.

If its any help I'm insured with Chaucer through Sunninghill as they were the most competitive and included trackday cover. I have just had a total loss claim settled by them without delay and at a very realistic retail value.
