Old news but no mention of it here on the military loving forum that is pistonheads.


Big old nuke spotted in Douglas bay the other week.

It's ok, it's one of ours. A Vanguard class sub. It's there to protect the IOM from the Icelandic surface invasion fleet. smile

Common sight here on the Clyde with them coming and going from Faslane.

They are impressive though!

HMS Victorious according to the link. Won't be one of the boats on active service (especially not THE one) and Victorious is the only one on sea trials following a refit at Barrow.

I remember seeing a few of our smaller subs off the west coast of scotland near Arran when sailing up there, its a great sight almost as exciting as spotting dolphins in your bow wake. Or am I just sad?
