If there is no buyers then the price is too high.... its fairly simple Economics (which I am capable of). There is plenty enough money out there, its just that no one is spending it because its not quite the bargain that anyone wants.

A property developer down my road has been forced to move into a house he has 'done up' because it is not selling. Oddly, he put it up for 225,000 8 months ago and it still hasn't sold. Not a single penny reduction over that time and swapped estate agents several times.

Reality is knocking mate....

Some apartments which had originally been valued at £200,000 were being offered for as little as £30,000 but there were still no takers.
£30k is really very cheap. What were the punters expecting to get them for? £2.50 and a lamb sandwich?

They weren't selling houses for 30k
Don't be ridiculous.

maybe not, but you have to question why there weren't more than 3 bids at that level (unless the reserve was stated, obviously)

The Daily Wail wouldn't either leave out or embellish the facts would they? Surely not that paragon of journalistic integrity!

I'm just commenting on the facts as presented. Do you have different information?

Property is still selling. But at realistic prices only. My father went to a massive property auction in london yesterday to try for a bit of industrial land local to us. which he managed to get. pretty much most of the stuff was selling at the guide prices. But the guide prices were not over inflated.
pretty much the only thing that fetched a lot more than the guide price was the bit of land we bought lol.
