I ordered a camera from the U.S, it was shipped via USPS (United States Postal Service), I got the mail suggesting it
was on its way, then in customs, then that it had cleared customs and today I have an email suggesting they attempted to
deliver it this morning at 5.30 am! What the hell kind of time is that?!

As it happens though, a few of us were at work around that time this morning, but we don't remember seeing anyone trying to deliver an item and if someone had tried to deliver, surely they would have gone to the end of the building where we were sitting and had the lights on etc and not just knocked on the door of a pitch black building at the other end. :/

So, would anyone happen to know what happens next? The tracking emails suggest nothing, other than the delivery was attempted at 5.30 am.There are no contact numbers or suggestions of when they may deliver again, nor does it suggest who tried to deliver or where my items have gone etc.I'm not sure what to do next. Are they likely to just try and deliver again?

I always thought they attempt to redeliver the next day, unless you go on their site and say you will collect it from their depo.

I don't think a courier is allowed to deliver before 0700 unless on special instruction? Things might have changed since I did it smile

Is it 5:30 GMT or 5:30 EST/PST? Just thinking that if it's an American site for tracking then the delivery person may have put in "10:30am" and the site has changed it due to timezones.

I'm not even sure who's depot that would be.I assume USPS give the item to someone else for the last part of the journey?
Would that be Royal Mail or courier? I have no idea, but I assume there are not USPS vans zooming about over here?
There are people at my works from 5.15 a.m to 5.30 PM, I have all my items delivered to them as someone can always sign for them etc, but nothing has shown up today.

This is all I have to go on at the moment...

Bit more googling and it appears it's ParcelForce who have my items and they are being held
at the local depot and are awaiting charges. The 5.30am delivery time is the time it arrived at their
depot.I assumed it arrived at the delivery address I specified and I could pay then.

Live and learn..

Ta all.

Ha, ParcelFarce! Just played exactly the same game an hour ago mad

I have been waiting for a parcel from the US which I also had to pay vat and duty on (not that that was their fault mind). It cost an additional £22.54 for that lot and they also claimed to deliver it today while I was specifically waiting in for it. Furthermore the address on the "We called" note stuffed in the letter box of the porch, gives a postcode and address where it is being held, but this was a Post Office 8 fking months ago and is now a bloody hairdressers mad

If the stupid bloody PO doesn't even know where its own bleedin Post Offices are, some fking chance I've got of getting my bloody fking parcel back.

So I queued up at another local post office for half and hour only to be told to come back at four bloody thirty so I could queue up again just for the fking sake of it, so they could say that they don't have it, the tracking number is fking wrong, and could I queue up again tomorrow 'just in case.' Unless I get a divine fking intervention from the Postal Turkey God who has managed to find my international parcel, I'm not counting on it arriving and even then I doubt that its actually in one fking piece and will work mad

It's a wonder the pea-brained knuckle-scraper didn't try and wedge it through my frigging lettter box, like the last dumbfk that did, forging my signature with another name but also putting his Driver name and Route quite clearly on the card. Broke my bloody letter box and damaged the electronic board that he shoe-horned through the letter box. Obviously he didn't get to play with the 'square cube won't fit the oblong slot' toy when he was in nursery. The .

Useless over paid s, under educated fkwits of the higest order. I could train a dead Kentucky drumstick to deliver my mail more effectively and it would cost less and be traceable.

Tracking system my courier flavoured fking arse. It couldn't deliver a fking parcel if they invented one that could talk to them and tell them where it was supposed to be fking going rolleyes

I ordered a nice disposable tie.

Imagine my annoyance when this turned up instead

I broke her after a few days and had to send her back. Luckily, as the guarantee covered accidental damage they are going to send me a replacement free of charge.
