I say leave them alone, if you are offended by them don't watch their programs or listen to their radio shows. So they might have gone a bit far this time, but the backlash has surely been enough already, and wouldn't life be dull without a bit of controversy?!

Should there be a third choice for 'yes they were right to suspend them' AND 'the BBC is ridiculous'?

It wasn't a case of a listener who could switch off if offendeed. They called another person, left offensive messages on his phone and then broadcast it. They overstepped the mark big-time!

It was unfair to say what they did to a man his age. I'm more surprised that this ever went out, especially as it was pre-recorded.

The BBC have a few quality-control issues to answer for.

What about the person at the BBC who decided that a pre-recorded show should be aired despite Manuel saying \'que?\' (No)?

I mean saying that crap to a grand father about his grand daughter...ffs!

Ross has a couple of girls - I wonder how pleaseed he'll be in 25 years when some jackass says the same to him.

This kind of humour is only appealing to the hard of thinking.

Unfortunately the BBC seem to employ "DJs" (much mixing going on?) with childish senses of humour - Ross, Brand, Moyles, Mills, Evans...

Yeah but no but yeah but....

It wa a joke, but was the person on the recieving end able to see the funny side? if not, then it has gone beyond a joke. And they are both employees of the BBC. Had somehting like this happened in an office, they would be sacked for gross misconduct. Surely this should also apply to staff of the BBC?

Part of the reason I object to it, and the reason I suspect that many people are more annoyed than they would be had an independant or commercial station broadcast this because we are forced to pay for it (arguments over having/not having a TV aside).

The BBC should not behave like any commercial broadcaster who are responsible only to their sharholders, it has an obligation above those as a public service broadcaster which it is failing to fulfil these days - it should be setting a standard, not pandering to the lowest common denominator and chasing ratings.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on it. What they did was wrong, but lots of comedians and entertainers upset people and, in one way, I'd rather people were allowed to push things to the limit, and exceed it, than play it safe all of the time.

As far as I'm aware there were few complaints until the story hit the mass media.

I would imagine one will be easier to sack than the other, that's for sure.

they are a pair of un-funny chimps, the joke wasn't funny - but it seems to have been blown out of all proportion by the tabloids, with everyone jumping on board to try and make themselves look in touch with the public opinion.

is there really nothing more important going on in the world than this bullst?

Where is the option for 'Tied up in a sack and thrown in the Thames' ? Granted, I'd probably have voted for that before this little wheeze...

Yes, suspended. Up to the police and CPS to charge the pillocks but, sadly, zelebrities seem to have a get out of gaol card in this country at the moment.

It was a pre-recoreded show - someone at the BBC said 'yep, air that' - THEY should be getting suspended, and if Andrew Sachs really cared, he could report it to the police - he isn;t, and hasn;t, so a big non-fking-issue.

I hate the BBC. I only use it for the Brand Radio show - so can I stop paying now he's not doing it? Sigh.
