Buying Selling shares question
Discussion
If you're going to scalp, you might as well try spreadbetting with www.igindex.co.uk. Cheaper unless you go big. But you said punt so I assume you're not gonna buy £25k of Barclays. Expect to lose, mind.
Funnily enough that site came up when I was googling for an answer. I have even less of an idea about spread betting than nuances of buying and selling shares. At least the companies I was looking at I am familiar with they - have all gone up between 10 and 16p from the start of trading, so even with a fairly low starting pot it is not a bad return for 30mins work.
ETA. Goes of to have a read of Wiki to find out what scalping is.
ETA Wanders back
Scalping is illegal.

I can get that here thanks. My yikes comment was slightly tongue in cheek though.shadowninja said:
PS the volatility is a good reason to not start trading now.
Excuse my naivety here, but why is that? The companies I am looking at traditionally do well in the sort of market conditions currently being experienced. They have previously been overvalued (IMO) and are currently fluctuating back to a more realistic level. They are robust companies, have no single market exposure so surely it would be a good time to buy. This is an area I know nothing about so please excuse me if I'm being stupid (or rip the piss as appropriate).rhinochopig said:
