I bought a Tuscan in April 2003, and, although the car is September 2000, the handbook is Issue 1, January 2000. The handbook refers to cycling though 4 screens of information:
1. time/mileage/air temp/km speed
2. tacho
3. oil & water temp
4. oil pressure.

Whereas there are 6 screens on mine:
1. time/mileage/air temp/km speed
2. time/trip/fuel/mph speed
3. tacho
4. water temp/oil temp
5. oil pressure
6. fuel/speed/tacho/water temp/oil temp/oil pressure/battery.

While the extra screens are self explanatory, there are also three setup screens as against the 1 referred to in the Issue 1 handbook. The third setup screen suggests that pressing ‘FOG’ for 5 seconds will restore the defaults. This doesn’t seem to work. At least the trip is not reset.

I bought the car trade, not retail, and not from a TVR dealer. As there is no TVR dealer in Sheffield that I can easily call into and rather than try to explain this over the phone, I thought it might be better to post this on PistonHeads. Can anybody tell me how to reset the trip?

Toggle through the screens until the Trip is showing - then rotate the knob. A quick flick is enough(at least it is with my knob)

When the "5 second Fog" screen is showing, pressing the fog button for 5 seconds resets the rpm settings for the change up lights, and the max/min values displayed on the setup screens.

The differences you are describing between the manual and your pod means you have the later pod software. Which is nice.

Cheers,

Andy.

Just out of interest (I'm in the middle of my research prior to buying a Tuscan); when did the later software get implemented? Can older cars be upgraded?

To answer a question no one was asking: a Ford Fiesta is not a substitute for a Griff 500 - hence the need for a tuscan

There have been many versions of the software and you can upgrade some versions to others, and some to even later versions, but TVR do not seem able/willing to update the original version to the latest (for example), according to my dealer, I have the latest version "that will fit"!!

What do you mean remedy? That is correct for a 2000 Tuscan.

Have you tried pressing (and holding) the hazard light switch simultaneously when pressing or turning the twist button on the right of the console (that normally changes the instrument display)?

Hello. I tried everything, at first I thought it was the efi problem and H solved these I thought it worked for me. it seems strange to me that no one has this problem of viewing all the pages of the menu. greetings Raffaele

Perhaps if you can take a short video of what you see, and what happens when you push the buttons... that might help those with more knowledge could help.
