Did I over-react?
Discussion
Sitting at home last night and my girlfriend hears a noise, lifts up the curtain to see that an egg has been thrown at the side window. She then hears footsteps running off down the pathway at the side of house. I didn't hear anything - but she showed me what had happened
Quite funny if you are kid (I was one once - and still am in a lot of ways). Now bearing in mind it is silly week (Halloween) that could have been a good explanation for this happening. However a similar thing happened a couple of weeks ago where an egg was thrown towards an open upstairs window and smashed over the side of the house.
So as I had a particularly stressful day at work yesterday, and wasn't in a very good mood, I proceeded to look out the window to see about 10 kids running down the road.
I decided I would get outside and go and give the kids a good rollocking (sp) - but I also decided to take half a dozen eggs with me in case(!). So I drove to the end of the road and the kids were all standing around - but as soon as they saw me driving down the road they ran. So I followed in the car.
Unfirtunately for them they turned down a cul de sac, and proceeded to try to escape down an alleyway with a fence at the end that had to be vaulted for their escape. So I started to throw the eggs at them. I made sure I went for the girls in the group - as we all know that teenage boys like to show off in front of the girls - but if the girls are getting egged for the boys actions perhaps it will make them think in future. So the girls and two lads who are completely covered in egg (impressive how much goo came out of them) come out of the alley with a bewildered look on their faces asking why I had just egged them. I explained (probably with a number of expletives) that if they touch my property then they have to accept the consequences now, and in future.
When telling the story this morning, from the looks on some colleagues faces - they seem to think I did.
I was only thinking why I came home with an egg, and only threw 5 instead of 6.
I am 32. Did I over react?

F ckin scum.
It's Halloween time (another piece of old b0llocks imported from the US to give the scumbags an excuse to misbehave) and my Mum is at home on her own frightened about what will occur.
Little tossers.

When are the Police coming to arrest you?
Funnily enough when I got home - I then went to iron a shirt upstairs about an hour later, I could see the same group of kids being spoken to by the security police (we have our own security on the estate I live on). From their body language I think they were being told off for something else. I would actually have been quite happy if they did come round - as I could then have at least made a complaint without having to bother the police in their real work!
I can imagine the kids getting home to their parents, and being asked why they are covered in egg. When they try to explain that a "crazy man" chased and egged them. I would hope the parents would put 2 + 2 together and realize there was more to their story than this! Hopefully the parents will come round to have a word, and I can explain what their angels have been up to.
