would buying some new earphones make it any better or is there some sort of option to make it any louder? I don't mind spending upto 40 quid ish !

I assume you've turned off the hearing protection volume limit...

On mine it's Settings -> Volume Limit (5th down on the settings menu) confused

ahh I've re set the settings and found it, cheers! I would like some better earphones though so any advice would still be appreciated

Ive got the new one and it works if you reset it, don't worry it will still keep all the tunes, games and time and date etc

Just use it on a crowded train - the volume will automatically get loud enough for the whole carriage to hear it...

because there is an initial setting to set the volume level which you can lock !
