Probably not what you're after, being more bistroish, but Cafe Boheme can be quite good.

Thursday nights in Soho are usually busy and you dont really get gastropubs. the Endurance on Berwick Street is not too bad

Soho Pizzeria is alright.

Or go to that burger place by the Soho theatre with a pub either side of it.

It does but it is busy. Maybe the crown and two chairmen on Dean street?

there's a pie pub in Charlotte St (just the other side of Soho Sq) - can't remember what it's called but it's very close to Rathbone St

massive selection of pies, you need to book to get a table

Not too bad for a cheeky Friday night beer out in the alley, but I would hardly class it as the kind of place to go for a sit-down meal on a Thursday.

I agree - I wouldn't really recommend any pub for food on a Thursday evening

Without knowing what you're up to, it's hard to say - You can try downstairs at The Forge on Floral Street (I'm often in on a Friday afternoon) - or for a little smarter dining Mon Plaisir on Monmouth Street...

Its a leaving do for our secretary.
We are picking up the tab, and boss likes a beer so want something not too stuffy, mid range in terms of price with places to go to the boozer after. So, Gastropub ideal.

Have booked Cafe Boheme as a backup.

Why didn't you say it was for your secretary - take he up the OXO !!

I think Cafe Boheme is your best bet - plenty of pubs nearby (but aviod the ones on the same street as Cafe Boheme whistle
