Today I am mostly angry with letting agents

I'm supposed to be moving house at the end of the month; I share a house with two mates. After touring various stholes and putting up with the normal estate agent flannel we finally found a nice place, where we wanted it, within our budget. So we handed over the agents extortionate fees, passed their credit checks, got them references and jumped through the various hoops.
Got phoned by the agent this morning and informed that the landlord actually only wants to rent to a couple, not three professionals as they claimed. Maybe we'd like to take a look at some of their other properties as we only have 4 days before we have to leave our current house and we can no longer move into that one? To say I was not happy doesn't really begin to cover it. i had to put the phone down before I said soemthing I regretted.
