Suicide is selfish
Discussion
I know it's always tragic, is often for the most daft reasons, and people tend to be driven to it for reasons that they really could have dealt with, but this happened at the back of my house on Friday. I didn't know anything about it till I was walking the dog on Saturday and saw the makeshift shrine that had appeared at the waters edge, but it's just generated a reaction of complete horror locally, not sympathy for the woman but almost loathing of her for inflicting such pain on her children, a reaction of unbelieveable selfishness towards her. The disfunctional mentality that drives someone to this is beyond understanding for most nromal people.

All of our Love. The Glitters.
The ironic bit is that knowing where they came from that is actually very funny! They're all a bit wierd over there, it's just a shame that they get the bus down to bugger up the lakes near my house. All of our Love. The Glitters.

Just down the road from where I live as well. I assumed the family were from there?I agree that it can be abit selfish. However, some people cope with different aspects in life differently from others. As an example, my Sister's friend's Dad killed himself, not that long ago. He tried to set up a new business, but failed in doing so. I believe he due the Bank's 15k. Could not handle the stress which came with it, so ended it. He left behind three kids and a wife. Such a shame.
There's a big cuddly "Tiger" amongst all the flowers laid at the scene, when the dog ran over to it I had this horrible mental image of him grabbing it and giving it a damm good labrador humping as he would most cuddly toys, I think I had a lucky escape that for once he came when called as I think I'd have been lynched by the sufferers of Diana Syndrome who were gathered at the scene.
I've been there.
I've tried suicide once and been very close to it a number of times.
As someone said earlier all your thought processes are shot to bits, you have no ability to think rationally. If she thought of her kids it would have been that she was already failing them now and that they would be better off without her.
If you've never experienced this level of despair then you are very lucky. I am sure that she thought that she was doing the best thing for everyone, that they all would be better off without her around.
If you've been lucky enough to have never felt that worthless you start a poorly thought out thread.

Sorry to hear that you have reached a point where you felt that you could not go on, and apologies if my earlier post was insensitive. I've tried suicide once and been very close to it a number of times.
