With the number of what car threads on here (I have been guilty of one then had an attack of common sense) that end up as FWD vs RWD arguments or BMW vs Mercedes etc etc. I wondered what PH'ers would list as their top 5 cars that they would choose from if given £30,000 to spend, obviously classics are included but at todays prices not new so a F355 at £30k is allowed but an example must be available. Car doesn't need to meet any other criteria

Mine without a great deal of thought would be as follows.

(Not in order)

1. RS500 http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/751053.htm

2. Escort Cosworth http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/750063.htm

3. Nissan 350z GT - new one please.

4. Cayman S http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/733679.htm

5. SL55AMG http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/724073.htm

Whats wrong with the 335d being in my list. Its a great everyday performance car for under 30k.

Pretty much why I started it. I knew as soon as DXB turned up someone would have a pop at him.

I almost added a 335d or 335i as my 5th choice but went for the AMG on noise grounds and not much else.

I reckon he should get out more, I know BMW's are good cars but 3...he must have other cars he adores.
