Hi

Can anyone recommend a moss killer to use on a hard surface? I can't seem to find anything to contyrol moss on a drive?

Would imagine a weak solution of bleach would do the trick.

A neighbour of mine uses Jeyes Fluid, seems to do the trick.

Trouble with Jeyes fliud is that it stinks, sodium chlorate weed killer does the job and is cheap to buy (wilkinsons sell it).

The best way I have found to control moss is to get the driveway professionally cleaned and then sealed using an acrylic sealer. Once sealed the moss finds it harder to get a foothold and when it eventually does come back it's just a case of treating it with some "moss killer" from a hardware store......

Or even a strong one!!

Get a big bottle of tescos own brand bleach, 1kg of salt and mix up with water in a bucket. That should kill everything, and cost bugger all.

Jeyes USED to work but they changed ti and it does nto now, nor does bleach.

BUT, dont despair, Get down HOMEBASE and get some PATIO MAGIC, it is blue liquid in a 5 litre drum (about £16IIRC), not cheap, but it works.

Get a garden sprayer dilute it up and spray it all over your mossy bits and LEAVE IT. Dont scrub it, just leave it. If the wethwr stays good, respray after a couple of day, (best do it when it is forecast dry), leave it again, dont be tempted to brush it or spray it, you will only spread the spores......

Hey presto after about 10 day, you notice it all reducing and after about 3 weeks it is gone!

Great stuff.
