I've just moved into a new flat and I'm told there's a communal dish, which makes sence as there's a mystery socket next to the terestrial one.

Dixon's said they (and Sky) didn't have anything to do with communal systems and couldn't help me. Can anyone tell me what I need to get Sky? Does this work out cheeper than just normally having it installed in a house?

Cheers, Will

I think you need to speak to the tenants association of your block to see who to go through. This is whats currently happening with a mate of mine...

The downside of shared Sky is that you cant have Sky+...

Think its the same price pretty much though.

Sky are more than happy to help you out if you talk to them direct, they will still charge you the fitting fee though, even if they just bring along a box and plug it in the wall.

Talk to the management company to ensure that it is all connected and working, and that it is a digital dish, then contact sky and get them to bring you a box.
If the dish has been installed within the past 3 years, it is most likely a digital dish.

I had sky in my last apartment block without a problem and when i move recently I just plugged in the sky box into the wall at the new flat. It all worked perfectly.
