As previous posts by me have shown, I was in Munich for the Oktoberfest, and a damn good time was had until arrival at the airport when homeward bound.

The flight we were booked on was cancelled due to air-traffic control problems. This resulted in a night sleeping in Munich airport and the booking of flights via Zurich to Birmingham (car was parked at Stanstead) which cost £200 each and the cost of travel from Brum to Stanstead. It took 24hrs to get home in the end.

No problem I thought, I have travel insurance so all will be ok. Was it? Was it `eck as like. The policy I took out did`nt cover me for cancellations. Thats right, no cover. The insurance company was a well known name, one which I will never pass my custom to again - click click, don`t cluck cluck - more to the point: click click, don`t fking bother.

Yes I am sure some of you will say "ah, but you should have read the policy" but to be honest would you not think that flight cancellation was something covered on all policies?

That's ste. I presume they are a company that aim to Cover you Swiftly?

Will be avoiding them in future.

You bought it without reading it? Did you ask if cancellation cover was included? Did you just buy the first or cheapest policy?

Animal, most people don't get to see all the policy documents till after purchase.

Doesn't stop you from reading the policy document online or requesting a copy...a retail customer should also be provided with a summary of cover.

Ah but if they covered something whch might actually happen, they'd have to pay out.
