Sorry if a re-post by anyone, but the search function is under going maintenance atm.
Being the owner of a N95 (and have been very happy with it for the last 18 months,) I am due an upgrade in December this year. Question is, I've not seen it on the O2 site yet, Are O2 going to carry this phone? and if so when?
Thanks in advance guys

Same position as yourself, been very happy with the N95 once the firmware had been changed to increase battery life a tad... seems to be a few problems with the N96 though at the moment, locking up etc, seems this was also the case when the 95 was first introduced to the market...... i might hang on a while until the bugs are all sorted out first

Just seen O2 and the N96 offered by Carphone wehouse for £35 / month.

I saw this is the outlet village branch Swindon.

N96 is fantastic, its what the N95 and N95 8GB should have been. Battery life is good and can be improved by sticking a BL-6B battery in it instead of the BL-5B its supplied with. THe back bulgdes a bit, but nothing major.
Maps 2.0 is excellent, almost like a real sat nav. I have 4 full lenght feature films on it at all times which comes in handy when you are bored or need to occupy the kids.

Not sure if they are doing the comes with music (CWM) deal with the N96, but thats a corking good deal.

Do you not have an issue with the speed? I was playing with an N96 (currently on N95-1) and couldn't believe how much slower it was, even without there being contacts and messages etc loaded into it. Seemed nice otherwise though.

i did my research before going for my new phone and from what ive read the N96's suffer from the same locking up issues that plauge ALL the N95's. shame they cant get that sorted out

i went for something else instead with a 5mp camera

I have mixed reports on the O2/N96 issue. Went into the local O2 shop and asked when they were getting it and the guy said "O2 aren't going to sell the N96 at any point. But we do have a different smartphone ... how about an iPhone". punch

Following this a mate of mine who's an O2 Select customer (for some reason) called up select customer services to complain about them pushing the iPhone over the flagship Nokia and they said they were going to start stocking it at the end of November.

Don't know which to believe. I'm going off-piste and waiting for the N85 anyway smile

Pleased with my N96, no lock ups as of yet although I've seen the new Blackberry and I like the look of that.

Why is it 'they' always wait till I pick a phone then bring out a better one? weeping

Even tho i can upgrade in november, i shall wait until the end now, just to see if O2 do indeed get it.

Unless you need the DVB in the 96 take a look at the 85. Pretty much the same, but with an FM transitter instead of DVB (short range, kind of like an iTrip) and a much better battery.

N96 will be available on 02 within the next 10 days.

Current upgrade offers (with other phones not N96) include 600 mins 1000 texts and a choice of bolt ons of unlimited landlines or unlimited web.

All for £25 per month.

If upgrading just ask to go straight to disconnections, don't bother with the rude muppets that first answer the phone.

Are you 100% sure on this?

Ive held my n95 contract out from june to wait for the n96. It originally was to come out in august but got held back. im on £20 a month for 600 mins unlimited texts but no free internet. 1000 texts and free internet could be an ideal package.

100% sure. Missus V8A has just been offered this yesterday but NOT as I say with the N96.

They will discuss N96 terms when it's available and she was told to call back in 7-10 days.

Just make sure you ask for disconections.

Good luck.

Just looked at their prices for it. It's only free on £75 per month tariff yikes

Or £230 on a £35/month tariff.

And this is why I hate the iPhone - it demonstrated that people would pay loads of money for a fancy phone!

02 must not want my familys business any more, 4 contracts on £35 and one on £15. Been with 02 for 6 years. We asked for 2 samsung toccos, 2 n95 8gb and a 6500 slide.
The best they could do was 5 samsung souls on 18months and no more minutes or web.

Needless to say we jumped to 3. We have 4 n96's and a 6500 slide for less money and same minutes.

I think they don't want any business other than iPhone business.

I suspect I'll also end up going to 3 when they have the phone I want. Been with O2 for 8 years and spent alot of money with 'em. If they don't want it anymore I'll give it to someone else.

phone wehouse has the N96 on the O2 35 18 contract. I fancy the Sony C906 tho, tbh, I only want the camera features really.

Was waiting for N96. but such a brick of a phone, even moreso than the N95, plus my N95 went tis up all by itself, despite going back to 02 twice and never been dropped etc. Went for LG Renoir, which is suprisingly good, great camera and internet / music so cant complain. Think 02 are having a laugh with the price they are asking for the N96 on contract.
