The other "related" thread has reminded me that I wanted to ask folk about this!

So why is it that women feel they have a divine right to find the loo seat in the "ready" position for them?

Why are they unable to put the seat up after them? Surely putting it up or taking it down uses pretty much the same amount of energy/effort?! Why is is that if we find the loo with the seat down, it is ok for us to have to put it up, but if a woman finds the seat up, all hell breaks loose!? Why should she have to put it down herself? God forbid!

Any girls wanna explain this???

I have two answers for you.

1. Women are thick, they'll forget its up and fall down the hole, needing to be rescued at a later date. wink

2. Next time leave the pan down and piss all over it. She'll soon stop with the whinging.

Because only men need the seat up, both genders need it down, even men occasionally.

I always assume they mean the actual lid down - so it looks pretty and that.

Not just the part that's a ring-shaped seat.

The ring piece, if you will.

on the basis that it takes me more effort to lift it up than it takes for them to drop it back down, I think they are getting away with murder. Nuff said.

yes exactly what I thought.

My missus leaves the lid up all the time, and then complains when she drops something down the toilet, as though it's somehow the toilets fault, so it's the other way around in our house, I tell her to put it down so I don't get asked to fish her belongings out the drains later...

Because women stand on the landing, drop their trousers and knickers, then turn round to face away from the door, reach behind them and open the door to the bathroom, and then back up to the toilet before sitting down.

+1

We never practiced this in our house and now some of the people I know including my mother in law practically foam at the mouth when I do it, I just don't get it, just put it down, the same as I have to put it up, shirley.

Caught her the other day giving my 3 year old into trouble for not putting it down, was not a happy man.

You let your women wear trousers?

See, that's where the problems start.

Good god, man.

Exactly.

If anything, it's easier to put it down cos gravity is helping. Innit.

There are, however, I am lead to believe, perhaps, maybe, some men who, er, empty their bladders in a sedentary position.

There, I've said it.

I always close both parts of the seat, in order to stop pigeons flying down the bog to drink the water and getting stuck.

surely closing the bathroom door would be just as effective?

there is nothing worse than having to touch a toilet seat especially if your at work with shared loos and you don't know who the last person was to use it and they could have let the 'bits' touch the rim of the seat where you would touch it, so the easy was to solve problem is to put the whole thing down once finished, and if you are the poor sole who has to lift the ring bit, do it using toilet paper so you dont actually have to touch it.

and blokes heres a little tip give it a good shake before putting him away so NO sprinkles are left for the next person to wipe off.

so it's not OK for you to touch the rim, but it's OK for blokes to?

BTW - there is an old saying. No matter how you shake your peg, the last drop goes down your leg. It wasn't made up without good reason. There's also another saying - any more than 3 shakes and you're playing with it...

Yeah, come on guys. It is hard enough going for pee as it is when all you have to hold it with is a pair of fins. Leaving the seat down makes it nigh on impossible.
