I am reliably informed by my brother in law that there is an MR2 drivers club website (MR2DC ?) that has all the info you require.

p.s. tell your brother to check that the scissor and hairdryer kits are as originally supplied with the car

I did, and he asks if your tiv came with an AA man, a tow rope and a drip tray to collect all the oil spilling onto the hard shoulder?

Hello Ms Kettle, this is Ms Pot.

Mk1 MR2s are great. He should get the mintiest of mint ones with change for £2k. Rust can be a problem, especially around the wheel arches, and the T-bar seals can go and are £70 a side to replace. Do a search on this site for the thread a few years ago for some more enthusiastic opinions (and the obligatory hairdresser gags).

Ms Kettle again, my brother in law has a v.g.c MR2 Mk1 in storage, he has owned it since NEW and considers it a classic car & can't/won't part with it.

Suprisingly he isn't in any way connected with the follicle design & adjustment business...........
