Not sure if this has featured in any news articles yet, but it's going to make a big difference for those of us here in Scotland getting out cars to the continent.

Previously it's been a slog down to Hull to be greeted by a ferry that saw better days in the 80's. From May I'll be 50 mins from ferry terminal and looking forward to a brand new boat .

The only question is where to go first?

As an added benefit for the tourism trade hopefully the service will be equally popular for people from the Continent coming to Scotland.

Great idea, but will they get enough customers to keep them in business?

Lots of Scottish members here. Question, will you use it?

I'll definitely use it. I've done the Newcastle route before, which is not bad from Edinburgh (2 hours drive), but 1/2 hour to Rosyth is even better.

Depends on cost though... doesn't it always.

I'm sure my brother would love that as he lives in Goteborg.

Not tried it yet, but looks very interesting for me compared with channel crossing prices!

What are the costs like Bodo?

I know I could look it up, just too idle.

Looking purely at the prices, it seems to be around 250 squids more than Hull-Zeebrugge and even at todays juice prices this seems rather OOO (out of order).
Food extra, cabn extra etc etc etc , Sure we save around 3 hours in each direction travel.... Anybody done the trip yet?

I know there were a few of the Scottish TVRCC guys went to Le Mans and used it - seemed like it was OK. Having looked at their web site, the prices do seem steep though.

Oh, and its running only a third to half full. Don't know what their revenue model is, but I'm sure they need more traffic than that to sustain it.

Just talked to someone who went to Le Mans on it - they paid £320 for 2 people + car
Said that the cabin was nice & the beer wasn't too expensive at £2 pint

cheers,
Craig
