Is there a trick to using Google?

All I seem to get on searche results is junk. Instead of showing me relevant sites that are useful all I get are other mass advertising sites that list other sites thay MAY have a relevant keyword or sites that have one of the words that I'm looking for.

I know people have tricks of the trade to push their sites to the front of the search results but I really wish Google would be customer based and stop all this ste coming up. Can't they make it more search specific or am I doing something wrong?

It's time wasting and fking annoying.

I'm looking for a car hire company in London that rents out the Smart car. I need it in late November for 3 weeks.

I've gone to all the big companies and they can't guarentee you get the vehicle you ask for, even when booking a month in advance. (I find that very odd)

Every time I enter SMART CAR HIRE, or similar. The word smart is used as meaning "clever car hire" grrrr

Then it also lists car hire companies that don't actualy hire them.

Very frustrating

using a hyphen before any search term excludes that term from the results.

I use it on Ebay a lot, searching for car bits. I search for what I like, and add -chrome -amg

I believe its a virus/spyware. My google was infected a while back. It's a registry virus so can be removed with those spyware removers. I just changed to firefox.

I googled exactly the same as you, only without the speech marks and it came up with the same site.

It seems typing in exactly what you want yields best results.

More importantly why would you want to hire a smart car?

Even after that company there is one called SMART HIRE, ie Smart cars only but their website doesn't work properly.

I think I'm just expecting too much from Google

If you're expecting it to know that you want a Smart car and not smart car hire you are indeed expecting it to have mind reading abilities. Try searching for Smart Fourtwo hire, that way a word that won't appear on clever car hire sites unless they hire Smart cars.
