Has anyone ever managed to sell a timeshare or resort points on? My BiL has some that he wants to sell, at intrawest in Whistler, any tips greatly appreciated!

Yes, managed it a few months before the economical st hit the fan.

We used transfermytimeshare.com.

Yes, using an agent to do the transfer sounds like a plan, How did you go about finding a buyer? if you don't mind my asking.

I think it's just on their site and people do searches for what they want. My ex did all the organising so I don't know the details. I just have their website on the formal docs. You'll need a Notary to do the final bits. If you thought estate agents were a waste of oxygen...
