Most lost driver!

I was out running this evening, near Maidenhead in Berkshire, when a car pulled up to ask me for directions. They were looking for the M1 northbound!
It's a good 30 miles away, out of town M4-M25-M1. I dont know ho they ended up in the middle of Maidenhead, looking for the M1.
I bet you can beat that!

I was driving Zurich to Lille a few years ago with only a little map, an apple and a chocolate bar as my companions. I took the route through Germany to see what my 200,000 mile Mondy TD was capable of (121mph
)... And I thought I was doing quite well, until the road-signs started looking funny... And the speed limit dropped... And the motorway ended... And I found myself in mini Afghanistan, almost certain that I wasn't in Germany any more
.
Turns out it was the Netherlands (could have sworn it was Afghanistan - after a bombing raid), where any place names that I would normally recognise in English/French/German were incomprehensible.
Also I once went to fill up with petrol (in South Glasgow) and ended up in Mallaig. But that was semi-intentional

Many years back, when I was a boy......
There was a lad in the drawing office at work, and he was sent to a company in High Wycombe.
From Bedford, the advised route was : go DOWN the M1 to the M25, round to the M40, and up to High Wycombe. Take the first exit, at the roundabout turn left into the estate where the company you're going to is the first on the left. Dead simple.
Two hours later he phones in. "I can't find the place, been looking for it and can't find it" "Where are you" "Not sure,I'll ask these people.. 'scuse me mate, where am I here?'....... LEICESTER"
Drawing office in fits of laughter...... and when he came back, he was fuming that he'd been sent the wrong way, and wouldn't have it that he was a complete numbnut and had zero sense of direction.

A Syrian lorry driver taking luxury cars from Turkey to Gibraltar was sent on a 1,600 mile detour to Skegness by his sat nav.
Birdwatchers at Skegness's Gibraltar Point looked on in astonishment as Necdet Bakimci tried to steer his 32-tonne lorry down a narrow lane towards the North Sea.
When questioned by onlookers, he explained in broken English that he was looking for Coral Road on Gibraltar, reports the Daily Telegraph.
It is thought that the confusion arose because his device had the Rock listed as UK territory and so directed him towards the mainland.
Steven Humphreys, 57, of Burgh le Marsh, Lincs, said: "He showed me his delivery docket. I had my laptop and found the place on Gibraltar. Amazingly, the guy didn't seem too upset."
Eventually, Mr Bakimci arranged for his firm in Antakya, Turkey, to ship the cars to the correct destination from Birmingham and began his journey home.
The blunder is one of a series that has prompted calls for drivers to use more common sense and less technology when taking to the roads.
