A few questions on 1998 Polo SE

Hi All,
Just wondered if you could help me out with a few questions...
firstly - and this may be a silly question but just wondered if it meant anything - what does the 'SE' stand for? Is it just a model name for the polo as i know you get CL etc.. but wondered if it actually had something to do with the spec of the car.
secondly - Does anyone know how to replace a front headlight on a polo? Have removed the grill and the grill surround and also unscrewed the screws from the top of the headlight but it seems there are screws under the headlight which only seem to be accessable by removing the whole bumper but that just seems a silly design if that is the case.
