Inspired to my trip to the Spa Six Hours, i've decided to go on a longer driving tour around Europe in November. I've got 2 nights booked for Disneyland Paris on the 24/25th November and then a day around Paris itself, but that is it. I don't need to be back to work until 8th December, so I've got all that time to make my way around Europe. I'm looking to go from Paris, across France to Switzerland then up into Germany (including the 'ring) and then across to Luxembourg and then home through Belgium. I've got the Laptop and GPS reciever for navigation and mobile to use as a modem for internet access with a willing passenger to help me out!

Do any of you have places on your "Must Visit" lists that I should be sure to include or equally, avoid? Any hotel recommendations, good roads, good places or driving/travelling tips?

Any info is welcome!

Many thanks.

James

Ah, now I realise that I should have checked a bit more carefully when I added in some of my older cars!

I'll be taking my only current car, the 330D {stereotype}So obviously i'll be doing the whole trip on one tank of fuel and faster than anyone else ever has.{/stereotype}

Just a thought - will the 'ring be open ??

Was going to suggest areas around the Switzerland/the alps but I doubt whether it will be accessible. frown

I was wondering if the 'ring would be open / snowed under. I'm not too keen on trying to get too far into the Alps, I imagine it sould get a bit chilly and frosty up there that time of year. I was mainly going to head for places like Bern or Thun.

EDIT: http://www.nuerburgring.de/events.286.0.html says the 'ring will be open 29/30th weather permitting biggrin

hehe I'm sure it'll be a great trip. Wish I could afford the time off work/fuel to do one. What do you estimate your total mileage to be for the trip? 2000-ish?

By the looks of it it will be about 2000 miles, depending how many times I get lost! The time off is my belated summer(!) holiday!

Here is a Google map that shows the rough route.
