The Lockerbie bomber is facing a death sentence after being diagnosed with 'advanced' cancer.

Today's newspaper said:

Britain's biggest mass murderer was given the news that he has just weeks to live in his prison cell following a trip to hospital for a series of tests.

Following Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi's diagnosis, top level discussions have been held about moving the bomber to a more comfortable environment.

The 56-year-old Libyan, who is serving a minimum of 27 years for the murder of 270 people in the 1988 atrocity has prostate cancer, his lawyer Tony Kelly confirmed today.

He said: 'Following hospital tests, Mr Al Megrahi was last month diagnosed with prostate cancer.

'Unfortunately the disease has spread to other parts of his body and is therefore at an advanced stage.

'Mr Al Megrahi asks that the privacy of his family is respected at this difficult time.'

So, some good news then. A really really painful death this.

But what the F K with the bits in bold?!! I hope he roasts on a spit for eternity when his "god" has finished with him.

Can anyone be sure it was actually him? I personally have my doubts and think we may never know the full, true story.

One man convivted of the largest mass murder in Britain? Too neat and convenient for my liking.

If it was "him", or he was involved, then obviously he's got what's coming to him....
