I'm going to need a new key for my Alfa 156 that I'm collecting next week. The car is a facelift interior 52 plate 1.8 veloce. Its coming with two black keys (which I believe is correct) but both have seen better days. How much should my Alfa dealer be charging for a new one?
TIA.
(Before anyone says it, I know I should have got the vendor to sort it!).

Not sure what it'll cost but it's more involved than you think as the new keys can only be assigned to the car using the Alfa Examiner for which you need the immobiliser code, which probably isn't with the car. You need to give the dealer your V5 and they contact Alfa UK for the codes. They usually fax them through within 24 hours so it's worth doing that in advance.

I got the codes from my dealer for about £20 and then my independant Alfa guy assigned the new key at the next service when he had the Alfa Examiner out anyway.

Two black keys is correct for your car by the way.

Thanks mate, I'll have a ring round and see who can do what for me without having to resort to main dealer prices.
