I was wondering if anyone has a good resource for LCD TV Stands? I'm looking for a non wall mounted version at the moment, preferrably with a storage cabinet but her in doors would rather have the glass shelves. The TV is a 40 incher and we've looked at the normal tat they sell in Comet but its just that, tat. I was looking for something i can mount the TV on to raise it up so it looks less cluttered.

Can anyone make any recommendations please??

John Lewis have a selection of good stands, but like most of these its down to personal choice.

Just got this, admittedly only for my 22inch monitor, but its quite good when built, really solid and gets rid of all the clutter.

No idea how much you want to spend, or how modern you like, but I have used these in the past. Really nice quality.

Some nice examples there, how much are they out of curiosity?

possibly not to everyones taste - but I like it 'cos I've got high ceilings.

Its from Dwell - quite a few shops around:

£425 and it would make my lounge a hell of a lot more tidy.

Actually the Oak one is in the sale at £295

I bought this unit for my 42 inch plasma and been pretty happy:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

Vendor seems pretty good as the first unit he sent out to me had a chipped shelf - when I reported this he just sent out a whole new unit. Didn't even ask me to send the first one back.

What I don't understand is why no-one makes something like the Cotswold Collection ones, but that don't leave the bloody DVD / Sky etc. on display. The only bit that needs to be seen is, well, the screen, isn't it?

Because most people dont want the expense of having to cater for piping IR into a cupboard or utilising alternative control methods.

We could fairly easily get something like those Cotswold ones that Ted posted bespoked in just about any wood, with or without lifts etc.

Buy Smart Life magazine for seriously cool LCD TV stands (among other essential lifestyle technology). For instance, alphasondesigns.com, optimuminternational.co.uk, robhalsalldesign.com, etc.

They go through holes in the glass and go down behind the dvd and ps3 and stuff on the shelves, not ideal but hidden (almost) all the same, hernia inducing pieces of glass as well, crackin value.
